Tara Livingston is the owner of Fairway Red Deer and an experienced mediator. Tara was a counsellor for more than 15 years before transitioning to mediation and has a master of divinity specializing in counselling, grief care, and inter-faith dialogue from Trinity College at the University of Toronto (2006). Her training and extensive experience counselling hundreds of families through life challenges have uniquely prepared Tara as a well-equipped and effective mediator with a range of separation and divorce expertise, including divorces involving children and parenting coordination.
In her transition from counsellor to mediator, Tara completed her training through Herzing College and the Legal Education Society of Alberta, deciding in 2019 to open a Fairway location to serve the Red Deer community. Tara is always mindful of the big picture and uses the methodical steps of Fairway's Independently Negotiated Resolution™ (INR) process to understand each client's past, present, and desires for the future. In Tara's view, a mediator is a partner and guide focused on keeping everyone informed and the process on track to resolution. Her deep empathy for people allows Tara to see each client as more than a case number, keeping priorities central even as families and couples design their new reality. Her practical approach empowers Tara’s clients to envision a life beyond separation and divorce.
Personally committed to bettering her community, Tara is also a founding member of the Calgary Alliance for the Common Good.
