Background

Professional Experience

Lesley Shebib is an accredited mediator who has worked in a range of conflict resolution scenarios over her 20-year career. Lesley earned her Master of Arts in Conflict Analysis and Management from Royal Roads University in 2014 and her Third-Party Mediation and Family Mediation certificates from the Justice Institute of BC. Lesley is also a faculty member at the Justice Institute of BC in the Centre for Conflict Resolution.

Beginning her career in the field of victim/offender mediation, Lesley gravitated toward the healing and reconciliation that can occur when conflict and harm are addressed through a lens of compassion. Before joining Fairway, Lesley served as program director and lead mediator for a restorative justice organization, learning that keeping the lines of communication for everyone involved in a dispute is crucial to finding a resolution. Her strength lies in her ability to understand her clients by identifying their values, hopes, beliefs and concerns by empowering them to articulate their experiences in their own words. Lesley’s mediation style compliments the logical and sequential Fairway Independently Negotiated Resolution™ (INR) process, keeping conflict and drama to a minimum while efficiently guiding clients through separation and divorce to a new life.

Lesley is active in the mediation community, and in addition to teaching, often also delivers talks about separation and divorce mediation, including at the ADR Institute of British Columbia 2021 Symposium and Cares Counselling Symposium 2018. She also lends her expertise as a volunteer with Maple Ridge Victim Services.
