Caroline Cranston is the owner of Fairway Calgary Northeast and a highly qualified accredited mediator with over 26 years of experience navigating couples through separation and divorce. In addition to her role at Fairway, Caroline lends her expertise as a mediator with Resolution Services, Alberta Justice and Solicitor General.
Caroline earned her Qualified Mediator (Q. Med) designation through the ADR Institute of Canada and Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist accreditation through the Academy of Financial Divorce Specialists. Caroline is also a certified financial planner through FP Canada and a personal finance planner through the Canadian Securities Institute. Her clients span a range of dispute scenarios, including grey divorce, high-conflict, high net worth, and those involving children.
Through the many conflicts Caroline has mediated to resolution, she’s found that couples benefit from a trusted guide to facilitate the crucial conversations and questions that are inevitable in separation and divorce. An excellent listener and coach, Caroline’s gift is her ability to educate her clients and facilitate the vital flow of information that allows everyone involved to make informed decisions about their future. Using her expertise in finance as it pertains to divorce, she can simplify complex information to remove confusion, instead offering a level of transparency that’s often missing in traditional divorce proceedings. Then, using the inherent structure of Fairway’s Independently Negotiated Resolution™ (INR) process to eliminate confusion regarding steps or responsibilities, Caroline expertly guides her clients from conflict to resolution as quickly as possible while preserving relationships, dignity, and autonomy.
An active and respected member of the mediation community, she has served as a member of Community Mediation Calgary (2019-2021), Manitoulin Health Centre (2010), and as President of Manitoulin Chamber of Commerce (2002). Caroline served as Regional Vice President, Financial Planning for Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Northwestern Ontario from 2013 to 2019, and continues to serve as an active member of the Alberta Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute.
