Edmonton Franchise
Our progressive, leading-edge company is looking for someone who can be part of our team in Edmonton as a:
Senior Negotiator
Why would you want to work with us?
We are changing the way divorce happens: for the better. At Fairway, we have a process that makes it easier and is more civilized for all involved. If you want to work with a company that is challenging the status quo and creating a better way, we are it.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE AND OTHER PEOPLE’S LIVES.
Most people want to make a difference. In this position, you will be making a difference in many people’s lives – including the children. You will have the responsibility of working with people to help negotiate the two parts of divorce: money and kids. You will be able to use your strong financial skills to help couples make good decisions about their financial future.
WHO YOU ARE:
You are a “take charge” person who likes to make things happen. You enjoy taking calculated risks and making decisions independently. While the job requires strong initiative and self-direction on your part, results are only achieved with and through people. You like that. You also have a very persuasive “selling” type of communication style. You are able to get commitment and buy-in from others and enjoy that challenge. The environment is fast-paced and requires you to have the ability to deal with conflict situations regularly. You have a self-confident, extroverted style that can help move people through the process.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
• Describe and sell the Fairway Process to prospective clients
• Work with both spouses to negotiate and mediate all aspects of their divorce
• Facilitate initial joint meetings to determine an Interim Plan while they complete the rest of the Fairway process
• Analyze the client’s financial situation, enter data into Excel spreadsheets and explain it to both parties
• Explain and negotiate child support and extraordinary expenses
• Explain and negotiate spousal support
• Facilitate joint parenting meetings
• Write a Resolution Plan that summarizes the couple’s decisions
• Be responsible for all aspects of the case (with the help of administrative personnel)
In this position, you will be working with your own clients with very little supervision. You have the opportunity to put your own individual ‘stamp’ on each case and you will have the flexibility to work your own hours.
If you have a strong financial, legal or facilitation/mediation background and want to be responsible for making a difference, please send your resume to
